Olivia Fenton was born in Chicago, where she studied sound design. She has done the soundtrack and sound effects for movies, soap operas, and tv quizzes. Her work is characterized by a mixture of analog and digital sources, freely integrating synthesizers, guitars, soundwaves, or singing. We here at Boots'n'Cats are incredibly proud to publish one of her works, as we are big fans!

In late 2018 Katherine Constanz, an aspiring self-taught movie director approached Olivia Fenton with the proposal of a collaboration for her new project, "The Dark Empire", a bizarre and cheesy sci-fi flick. Olivia took it as a possibility of experimenting with some new ideas she had been developing in a risk-free environment.

The sounds present in the soundtrack attempt to not just be background noises, but talk about the movie itself, expressing the detailed moods (as with "Travis' Theme" or "The City Under Morg Control") or the themes themselves, with the contrast between the digital and analogue sounds a mirroring that of the fairies and Morgs' worlds.

Included with the download is the file that Olivia was presented with originally, giving brief descriptions of the scenes. The movie, naturally, was never finished.
